Our Courses
We offer full-time and part-time School Direct training opportunities in both primary and secondary phases as well as the Postgraduate Teaching Apprenticeship. Our full-time teacher training programme spans one academic year, from September to July. As a trainee teacher, you'll immerse yourself in an enriching educational environment by working directly within one of our partner schools. Here, you’ll have the chance to learn from skilled classroom practitioners and gain hands-on teaching experience.
Core Training: One day per week is dedicated to Core Training, featuring a blend of online and in-person sessions at a regional campus near you. This model ensures that you receive comprehensive, practical training.
School Placements: Spend the remaining days of the week in your school placement with the opportunity to work within your community and applying your learning in real classroom settings.
Our training sessions are led by expert practitioners who will demonstrate exemplary planning, teaching, and assessment techniques. You’ll be able to engage with and learn from peers across various subjects and educational phases. Gain insights and feedback that will support your development as an effective teacher.
Please do not hesitate to contact us to find out more about our part-time courses or for more details about training to teach with the National Institute of Teaching @Harris Initial Teacher Education, contact us at itt_esl@niot.org.uk or visit www.niot.org.uk
