Welcome to the North East London Teaching School Hub

The North East London, Chobham Teaching School Hub

Designated by the DfE in September 2024, our ambition is to ensure that every child has a great teacher and a great school who unlocks their potential and inspires them on a journey of lifelong learning. We will achieve this by providing exemplary training and development which meets the needs of all schools in our area.

We will strengthen the local training and development offer by drawing on existing knowledge and expertise, connecting schools, and facilitating networks across our three boroughs to create a powerful community of leaders and practitioners which has a demonstrable impact on the lives of all young people across Haringey, Redbridge, and Waltham Forest. We are agents of social change, improving the life chances of all young people, especially the most disadvantaged!

Our Region – London, L3Map NELTSH

The Harris Institute of Teaching and Leadership, Beckenham and Peckham

The Harris Institute of Teaching and Leadership has two sites in London located in the leafy suburbs of New Beckenham and the vibrant inner-city community of Peckham. Both buildings are newly designed and bespoke to the needs of effective training. The multi-use spaces are accessible for all and can accommodate large groups for meetings, conferences, or events. Being situated on the same sites as our amazing secondary academies means that school life is very much reflected in our design. The Harris InstituteHI External buildings are in use throughout the year, hosting training for all our programmes delivered by the Teaching School Hub, Harris Institute, and National Institute of Teaching. Lettings are managed by our onsite administration teams. We can provide technical support, photocopying, catering, and site services upon request. Seating arrangements can be adjusted to meet the requirements of the event. We also provide WiFi and recording technology to host hybrid events: online and face-to-face. Our customers report positive feedback on the welcoming environments, warm staff, and easy access to nearby transport links via New Beckenham or Peckham Rye Train Stations. Parking is also available on site.

The Benefits of Partnership

We have fantastic opportunities available to train and develop your staff as facilitators with the National Institute of Teaching or for your school to network with other local schools to host training throughout the year.
