New Vision English Hub
We are delighted to be working with our local English Hubs. English Hubs work with primary schools, in EYFS and Key Stage 1 to support the DfE’s 3 priority areas:
- Phonics and early reading provision including encouraging best practice in systematic synthetic phonics teaching
- Oral language development
- Reading for Pleasure
Their offer includes:
- Sharing of best practice in action at our showcase events.
- School-based audits of early language and reading provision.
- Become a Partner School to benefit from in-school support run by our team of Literacy Specialists.
- Funding or match funding schools to buy resources including validated phonics packages and training.
- Training in developing Reading for Pleasure.
- A Half-termly Reading Leader network of expertise to provide support and advice for leaders of English.
New Vision English Hub
New Vision English Hub based at Elmhurst Primary School, Forest Gate and serving schools in North East London in the regions of Havering, Islington, Newham, Redbridge and Tower Hamlets.
They also serve schools in Essex in the regions of Basildon, Braintree, Castle Point, Chelmsford, Epping Forest, Harlow, Maldon, Rochford, Southend-on-Sea, St Edmundsbury and Uttlesford.

Showcases
The New Vision English Hub hosts Showcase events at Elmhurst Primary School, Newham. To reserve a spot at our next Showcase event on Wednesday 13th November please sign up here.
Showcases provide you with the opportunity to:
- Observe phonics teaching in Reception and KS1
- Discover how to choose and use phonics resources effectively
- Find out how we have developed a Reading for Pleasure culture in our school
- Begin writing an action plan to apply for funding and free bespoke support
- Network with schools in your area
Following attendance at a Showcase, you will be invited to write an action plan to apply for funding and free support for your school. New Vision English Hub is able to offer up to £6,000 funding to schools, with outright funding available to schools who meet specific eligibility criteria.
Headteacher attendance is compulsory (Maximum two attendees per school). The event is also open to Reading Leaders and Senior Leaders at schools in North East London and Essex.
Schools can claim £160 to offset cover costs for attending the Showcase. This will be paid upon receipt of the action plan.
