Maths Hubs offer professional development opportunities for anyone involved in the teaching of maths, with the aim of driving school-wide change. Maths Hubs follow the teaching for mastery programmes for early years, primary, secondary and post 16 set out by the National Centre for Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics, NCETM. Their CPD offer for 2024-25 includes:
- Specialist Knowledge for Teaching Mathematics, available to all including Non-Maths specialists, Teaching Assistants and ECTs.
- ITT Providers Network
- Leadership in Maths Education Work Groups
- Targeted Support in Maths with an Intensive Support Partner
Venn Essex Maths Hub is led by St Thomas More’s in Colchester, and serves: Basildon, Brentwood, Castle Point, Maldon, Rochford,
Southend and Thurrock; and Braintree, Chelsford, Colchester, Epping Forest, Tendring and Uttlesford.
