Level 4 Learning & Skills Mentor Apprenticeship

Become a qualified Learning and Skills Mentor with this 12 month programme and make a real impact on individuals and groups! In this rewarding role, you’ll support learners in reaching their potential, working within ethical and legal frameworks to ensure the highest standards of mentoring. Participants will also gain a commitment to continuous professional development, learning to assess and overcome potential barriers to progress while fostering a positive and inclusive mentoring environment. This program prepares individuals to become skilled, resilient mentors dedicated to supporting mentee success.

Requirements:

• Approval from your Line Manager
• Minimum of a middle leadership role
• UK residency (3+ years)
• 30+ hours per week work contract

What you will learn:

• Understand Mentoring Roles and Responsibilities: Gain knowledge of professional boundaries, legal and ethical requirements, including safeguarding, and how to establish and manage mentoring contracts.
• Develop Effective Mentoring Practices: Learn to plan mentoring sessions, assess mentee progress, use communication techniques, and provide constructive feedback to guide development and achieve agreed outcomes.
• Implement Mentoring Theories and Models: Apply various mentoring theories and models, focusing on maintaining a strong mentoring relationship, evaluating progress, and ensuring sustainable mentoring practices.
• Reflect on Practice and Professional Development: Continuously reflect on mentoring practices, using supervision and feedback for self-improvement, while committing to ongoing professional development and research-based practices.
• Support Mentee Development and Provide Guidance: Use questioning, listening, and feedback techniques to support mentees, offer vocational and pastoral advice, and refer to other professional services as needed, while respecting diversity and equality.
